Where is Troncones?
Troncones, Zihuatanejo, and Ixtapa are sister destinations located in the State of Guerrero, Mexico on the Pacific Coast in the area known as the Mexican Rivera. Each of these vacation spots is located within a short drive from one another. Zihuatanejo is the central community which offers the charming chaos of authentic Mexico. Ixtapa is a government-planned resort area and an immaculate first-world tourist destination. Troncones is a small ecological beach community about 145 miles northwest of Acapulco and 23 miles north of Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International Airport. Our guests find Troncones to be the perfect balance between the popular tourist frenzy of Zihuatanjeo-Ixtapa and the uplifting therapy one experiences when visiting a world away from the every day cares of life.
Nestled between the jungled foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains and the warm tropical waters of the Pacific lies the beachfront community of Troncones. About 500 permanent residents make Troncones their home, mostly fisherman, farmers, and ranchers.
Troncones is the "real" Mexico. This unique vacation spot offers many miles of beautiful and unspoiled beach. Take a walk along the clean white sand and go barefoot in the surf where flocks of pelican's skim the ocean's waves. Discover the beach celebrated by Bride's Magazine, Travel and Leisure, AAA's Motorland Magazine, Hidden Beaches of Mexico, and many others. Troncones has become one of Mexico's favorite beachfront eco-resorts. It is lined with small guest inns, vacation homes, bungalows, and Bed and Breakfasts separated by small seafood restaurants and low-key beach clubs.
